I've wasted more time than I care to admit trying to figure this out, but is there any way to keep the trackpad ON while typing? It drives me nuts that it turns itself off

I would search the other 14 threads but I believe I have read that there is not. It doesn't bother me that it doesn't because I don't type that much but can see how it can be a pain.

I read somewhere that you change that in the BIOS settings.

Have you confirmed that this works? I tried this already and it did not work for me, but I will try it again

And you are talking about the setting that says trackpad backlight, correct? I can't find any other trackpad settings in the BIOS

Are you talking about lighting or trackpad usage while typing? If you want to be able to use trackpad and keyboard that is located in Alienware command Centre. I forgot the name of the setting but I believe its the 3rd button from the left. There should be 2 sliders. The slider on the top drag it all the way to the left. See if that works for you. Sorry I'm not home to be able to give the proper names.

That did the trick--I saw this somewhere else but I didn't realize exactly what the setting was doing. Thanks for the help!

I'm glad you got it sorted out. Here is an article about it.
