I've noticed in the past month or so I'd put my laptop to sleep and I'd come back in a few hours and I'd have to turn the whole thing on again and it goes through the "Windows was shut down incorrectly" or something along those lines, and it would give me the option to start normally, or do some diagnostic. I'm not sure exactly what it says unfortunately, but I'm sure you have all seen this screen before.

But anyways, a few days ago I was on battery browsing Reddit and it just shut down. No boot down sounds or logo or animations, just black.

Not sure what it is, I'm on BIOS A08 and had the refresh rate at 40 hz. Any ideas?

Some motherboards do a hard cycle when something changes or they can't post on BIOS settings...Have you changed anything on the computer? Also, try one memory stick at a time and in both slots. Let me know how it goes.

Idk about you but my battery comes loose sometimes by itself so I have to reseat the plug and that generally stops the instant no-warning shut downs for a while.

about the sleep shut-downs, you haven't installed a ssd lately have you? mine can't sleep without an improper shutdown now lols (but i don't mind doing full shutdowns as they take little time with an ssd boot drive)

Nope, no SSD's. And maybe the battery thing, although last time it shut down while I was using it it was sitting on the table sitting perfectly still.

I would check the above the suggestions. They take only minutes to check. Pop out one of your RAM modules, and check the cable on the battery. The plug is visible after just removing the bottom cover of the laptop.

Also... Have you checked your battery wear level on a program like CPUID Hardware Monitor?

I've learned today that I apparently have this exact same problem...I also believe something may be wrong with my charger/cord...but have nothing to back that up yet..

Rather annoying with the kind of money dropped on this kind of laptop..

(on another note...is registration to this place that easy...cause i dont remember registering here, yet it had log in saved for me o_O)
