I just bought my M14x last week and I am waiting on it. I have had a crappy computer for about 5 years now and I really never used the battery.

When i'm gaming my laptop pretty much turns into a desktop, I take the battery out after it is fully charged and game off the power cord. When i'm ready to go to college I grab the battery stick it back in and go on my way. I use the battery till it dies then charge it completely back up and remove it from use.

Now this works on my old crap computer, but can I continue this on a newer model of computer?

Would removing the battery a lot hurt it?

Using only power supply without a battery hurt the laptop?

Is there any problems that can arise?

    Thanks for reading. :D

the new laptops hava a bypass circuit. When the battery is charged the power don't pass throught the battery, only charge when need it.

So it doesn't do like old batteries where if you have the power cord on it all the time the battery dies?

Thats pretty cool.........I had to get 2 batteries for my old one because of that.

    Yep.

You get around 300 charges per battery before seeing a performance decline.

I always keep mine plugged in so I can save my charges for school.

yes you don't have to remove it all of the time. Keeping it plugged in will not affect battery life. You could still remove it if you want to but you have to remove the whole back pannel just to take out the battery which is very troublesome.

There's no point in removing battery or anything else, you simply need to DISABLE battery charging in BIOS.
Then you have it plugged all the time, but it will be like the battery has been removed.
Once in a while anyway (let's say at least once every month), you want to re enable the battery charge through BIOS and run a full charge and use the battery 50%, then disable the battery charging again and be happy because you have the best gaming laptop on earth. :)
