I have got 2 chargers which I leave plugged into the mains that show the blue light.. I was just wondering do these use much electricity whilst not plugged in to the laptop?

They don't use much, but I still unplug them anyways. My M17x charger uses between 0 and 0.3 watts when not plugged into the laptop.

Please take into consideration, these are transformer chargers, they change the voltage/wattage from the mains, into your laptop, it is why they are hot when playing games and cooler when not.
They will burn out/age quicker if you leave them plugged in and switched on all the time, but if it's under warranty it's your call, hope this helps :)
