Hey guys! I've been looking around the net to see if I could get my question answered with no success. That being said, I decided to create an account in hopes of getting some feedback from other Alienware 14 owners.
Here's a little background on what I'm wanting to do with the 14.
I stream and edit a ton for youtube and Machinima. My current laptop is fried and it's time for an upgrade. The thing is, I don't have a ton of cash to throw at a super high end laptop. Which is why i'm looking into the entry level 14. I'm talking the base of base models.
I know it's not one many like on the forums from what I see, but this is probably the best I can do with the budget given. Can anyone give me feedback regarding it?
My main concerns are the ability to stream from a console onto the laptop with little lag as possible (as I will be using fraps to capture). Will this do the trick? I also plan on playing Day-Z a ton on it as that is one of my main games I enjoy streaming/capturing.
Can anyone give me their thoughts on it?

Thanks for all of the help/feedback in advance! I do appreciate it!

Welcome to the forum!
That configuration is great for Day-Z, but I'm not sure it's the best one for your job, you need more power for that, I would recommend the Alienware 18, it's double of what you are planning to spend but it's definitely worth it, the basic configuration will last you for a long time, and when you need more, you can easily upgrade. -
I have to agree, for what you are looking to do and play that unit is a bit too light on spec.
