Hey guys, I'm new over here, so I apologize if this question has been answered before. I've been having this problem on my M14x R2 for the last two weeks or so, where I plug in the charger and the laptop does not charge. It's actually quite annoying, I feel like the computer is turning down the performance settings as well (~75 fps on League of Legends to ~35). The battery monitor says "plugged in, not charging". Any fixes? Thanks!

It's possible that the ident pin on the PSU is damaged and you need a new adapter.

Have you updated the BIOS? Can you check with another AC adapter (a friend may have one).

    I have updated the BIOS.
Going into the BIOS, it doesn't seem to recognize the charger (which is OEM, I bought the laptop earlier this year). Unfortunately, I don't have another friend with an Alienware :[

Well it turns out that after a bit of manipulation with the power cable, my laptop continues to charge.. So it would appear the problem lies in the connection between the laptop and the adapter. Would a new adapter be covered under warranty?

It should be - I've just had mine replaced. Even the motherboard is under warranty :) (provided your warranty hasn't expired yet)
