Hi . I got a slim charge that's only rated for 90W for class. M14x uses 150W which is too heavy to carry.

Here is the problem . The laptop will be in AC mood, but won't charge the laptop. Any solutions ?

The only solution is to plug a charger that will provide enough for both your battery and laptop use at the same time, in this case the 150W PSU.

Don't expect a 90W rated charger to have the performance of a 150W charger

    Think of it this way:
You have to fill a 100 liter container in one try, but you can't carry more than a 20 liter bucket (because it is too heavy to carry). The container won't get filled, obviously and the answer is simple: To fill it up in one try you have to use something that can hold at least 100 liters.

Yes charger with lower rating then the stock adapter will not charge your laptop. Katalin has quite accurately described the scenario. Battery requires more power to charge then the charger can provide. But i guess you can still look at options in bios. there was one option related to power adapter warning something. Maybe you can try disabling it and then see if it charges ?
Dont disable battery charging behaviour though; this will disable battery charging.

In nutshell, its very unlikely that 90W charger will charge your laptop. but you can still try bios option. other then that, i dont think there is much for you to try.
    good luck!

problem with using lower w chargers is normally one of these 2

    1. they wont work
    or
    2. they will power but not charge

sounds like urs is the later of the two, and no theres no solution that i know of so yes u can use it to power the laptop but no it wont charge it at the same time
