I have been having this problem with my m14x r2, it shows on the battery icon plugged in and not charging...and i can fix it sometimes, by unplugging and replugging battery/charger.. but this problem keeps coming back! it's so annoying. Is there and permanant fix for this? Should i get the battery and ac adapter replaced?

Ac adapter replacement would be best if you can. They are pretty cheap on amazon if ytour warranty has ran out. Sounds like the chip in the adapter is going.

Before buying a new AC adapter try reinstalling the battery method. Unplug your computer then go to Device Manager>Battery>Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery. Highlight it then Click uninstall at the top. Plug in your AC adapted then go to Action>Scan for hardware changes.

What BIOS version are you running?

Have you tried a power drain? (Unplug the battery and AC adapter, press and hold the power button for 30-45 seconds, reconnect and try your battery)

Yeah, it's likely your adapter is defective. If Dell doesn't offer to replace it, PWR+ sells really great adapters for a good price, and they'll even send you an extra one for free if you review their products.

Okay I have an advanced warrany that's up in a month, it's too bad that things are only starting to go wrong now. Do you have anything else for me to try @Alienware-Luis_Pardo or should I make a call to alienware?

Instead of calling just send me a PM and I'll take care of it. I need your service tag and address.
