I've had this laptop for about 4 months and this issue keeps popping up. The frame rate in my games will decrease drastically for no apparent reason. I used to run near max settings on Skyrim and get 50-60 FPS, but now, even with everything on low, I only get 20. I also experience lower frame rates in other games (not crazy low like Skyrim but significantly less than before). In the past I solved this by changing power options but that's not working this time. I've updated all my drivers and everything, help please?

Are you running on battery when this happens? If not
check your GPU temps maybe your fan is not running and you are over temp so the system is slowing down to keep it cool

Just wondering are you running GT555 and not HD3000? Try check at Nvidia CP , Manage 3D setting - Auto

If you select "Auto", It would mean a 50/50 chance of select which GPU to run however, most game will follow the same old and obsolete protocol of using the default adapter, and the default is the HD3000, so I recommend manually select it so it will be NVCP, Manage 3D Setting - NVIDIA High Performance Processor. Or follow the link in my sig to the guide for whitelisting games.
