    For anyone who hasn't tried this already, I've found messenger bags to be much more bearable if you wear them across your body. Put the strap over your left shoulder but have the laptop on your right (or vice versa). It sounds obvious, but I say it because I carried my messenger bag the wrong way (like a huge purse) for about two years. The laptop instantly felt about 75% lighter once I did it right.

    ^ That's how I've always carried messenger bags. The only time that doesn't work is when you have really heavy stuff in them, because if they swing too much they'll "fall out" of where they're supposed to be and end up back in the "big purse" position. For small laptops though they're great.

    Yeah, its a little bit elevated, for good airflow... I might consider this..
