On my new M14x I have an odd USB 3.0 problem. I have a Iomega eGo 1 TB USB 3.0 external drive. With the USB cable plugged into the drive, when I plug the other end into the USB 3.0 port the power comes on the drive but the computer doesn't recognize it. If I plug it into the USB 2.0 port, everything is normal.
But if I take an unconnected cable and plug it into the USB 3.0 port and THEN plug it into the drive, the computer recognizes it. Odd.
Any reason why this solution should work? Is it a symptom of some incorrect setting?
Obviously I would prefer it to work like every other USB device, but I'm glad I at least found one solution.

Did you install the USB 3 driver? This one: NEC USB 3.0 Oh btw I never had any problem with the port whether it's USB 2 or 3, and I also got a 3TB Seagate EHDD, and it work fine.

No, I didn't install a USB 3.0 driver, I assume Dell installed these drivers on the M14x before it ships. I haven't even thought to check to see if USB 3.0 drivers are installed. I'll do so when I get a chance. Thanks for the idea.

I have downloaded from Station-Drivers: le site de drivers, bios, firmwares avec un forum d'aide and I have no problem, you think I have to remove them and put those in your link?
Ciao
Now that I've seen the same thing
