    OK to purchase an m14x off ebay?

    I've found a great deal on a refurbished alienware with the exact specs I want but for £105 cheaper than the dell website after discounts(I'm not fussed about the free flight). I was wondering whether I'd be fine to purchase this as it comes with a 1 year warranty and he says I can pick it up and pay with cash.

    Will I still be covered if the laptop stops working? If the laptop stopped working all together in the first year would i still be entitled to a refund?

    It will be covered by dell's warranty for the 1st year if anything goes wrong. Honestly though, i wouldn't recommend buying an alienware from anyone but Dell. Plus refurbs are more likely to end up failing on you in the long run.

    Have you checked the Dell outlet? They have refurbs but you buy them directly from Dell.

    Personally I don't like buying computers from ebay or sites like it.

    my m11x was an ebay refurb... no problems at all in 2 years. I was aware of the hinge issue so treated mine tenderly.

    just bought a m14x but opted to go through a reseller (who sold via ebay), ended up going outside ebay for a further discount and service tags/warranty have been transferred. The m14x was new though
