Does anybody here have a notebook cooler for their m14x?
I want to get one. I'm looking for a cooler that I can place on my lap, and a cooler that has fans. I'm looking at the cooler master U2, and the Thermaltake Massive23 LX. Which do you think is better? I like the Massive more, but question its ability to cool the alienware because the fan is in the middle, not on the back left where the air intake is. Whats your opinion?

I have the U2 ....and its fantastic keeps my temperatures well within reach...and one can easilly place it on the lap...i dont see a lot of issues with that....plus the fans can be placed anywhere you like....so i have one right where the vent is :)

I also use CM U2, and it also reduce the heat by 5C - 10C which is acceptable to me, and the good thing is that you can move the fan around.

Wait, is the only difference between u1 u2 and u3 the amount of fans? Are the base like one size fits all? Cause I'm looking at amazing and it seems like I'd be better off just getting a u1 for the m14x? Not sure I quite comprehend.

Yes, the different between U1, U2, and U3 is the fan. TO be specific:

U1: 1 fan, for laptop size between 7" -12" can be use up to 14"
U2: 2 fan, for laptop size between 14" - 15" can be use up to 17"
U3: 3 fan, for laptop size between 15" - 17" can be use up to 19"

I use the U2 and its size is just about the size of my M14x so I think it will be too small to be use with 17" laptop though, and so does the other series.

After reading my post. I realized I should re-read my posts before submitting so that they make more sense "Cause I'm looking at amazing"...

    lol...

But I'm most likely going with a u2!! Excited!!! :)

I also think the U3 allows fan speed control, the others do not.

Yeah, U3 is the only series that has fan control, but it would be too large for M14x, since the rubber thingy that would hold the laptop (on each side, and at the buttom) will be unreachable, so then your laptop will be more slippery.

See, fan speed control isn't so important for me because I want the best possible cooling. If the U3 doesn't actually spin any faster than the U2 when set to maximum spin rate, it's not really useful to have speed control.
