PLEASE HELP!!! I can connect fine via Wifi, but when I connect a LAN cable nothing happens. It pretty much does not connect to the internet.

I do not see any lights blinking when data is pushing through. I have already reinstalled the drivers for the LAN card.

    I have a M14X R2.

Go to device manager (right click on my computer, select properties, once new window opens, select device manager at top left) and see if you have the ethernet card under network adapters.
If yes, then I am not sure of the problem since it should work.
If no, then see if you have a device being shown with an explanation mark in the device manager. If you do, then it means that the driver has not been installed and get the drivers from the dell site (I think you might already have done this)
If there is not indication of an ethernet card shown anywhere, then I am not sure what to suggest other than contact dell.

I do not see the ethernet card. , over

i'll definitely call Dell this weekend.

Maybe you missed the Ethernet controller? Download the Dell Atheros AR8151 driver from our M14x R2: Initial Drivers Installation Guide.

After installing it, check if the Ethernet Adapter is enabled under your Network and Sharing Center.

Thanks for the response, but I have downloaded the file before and nothing happened.

Based off my previous install, I looked at the network and sharing center and I do not see the ethernet adapter. What else can I do or am I doing something wrong? Is there something I need to do to access the adapter?

So I just did another driver install, but nothing is happening. I think something is wrong with the Ethernet adapter. *sigh*

I just sent an email to the address provided.

I hope this can be fixed without sending my laptop through the mail. *sigh*

    *crossing fingers*

You can disregard the last message and consider this issue solved.

Apparently, I looked into my BIOS and noticed that the NIC was disabled, so I enabled it and I am currently using the NIC.

    thank you!
