I just installed 8GB of Kinston HyperX 1600mhz (Non P&P) replacing my 4GB stock.

I found the fit to be VERY tight due to the memory covers.
I had to pull the clips over the modules with my fingernails to get it to snap in.
    Is this normal?

I knew this wasnt the plug and play so I opened CPUz when I booted and it shows 8GB and all of the rest of the fields are blank.
Also, my windows index dropped from 7.7 to 7.5.

Do I need to manually configure something in the BIOS?

Is this a typical experience? Other than these odd signs, windows shows 8GB and is running fine so far.

If you have the Core i5, then your RAM speed (1333 on Intel's specifications) might limited when compared to the i7-2720QM because that supports higher RAM speeds (1600 on Intel's specifications).

I have the 2720. Does your CPUZ show 4 empty memory slots?

Did you go into the Bios and enable XMP, for it to run at 1600 the Kingston has to have the XMP on or it runs at 1333.

No I didn't. I enabled overclock menu, and then put the memory at 1600mhz but I didn't enable XMP, I left it on auto. So just select XMP 2? I will try that when I get home from work today. Thanks.
