Hey NBR, been a while, particular this section of the forums.

Okay so, getting straight into the issue, Battlefield 3 when I first bought this laptop 8 months ago ran on Ultra @ 40 FPS and on Low locked at 60 (v-sync), that having been said, I'll use today as an example. I tried to play 2 games, 1st was with my 650m overclocked, that was 16FPS average, on low. The next was 11 FPS average with default nVidia settings.

Now, I've tried with the latest drivers and also the 296 dirvers, it's not a heating issue as I'm monitoring temps the entire time, and I can play other just as intensive games normally so it isn't the graphics card; my friend thinks it might be an issue with BF3 so I guess apart form general assistance identifying this issue, anyone that plays BF3 on your M14x's, have you experienced any strangeness lately?

    Cheers guys,

    Zeju

Try to do a clean installation of your video drivers. Once the drivers are completely removed(Standard VGA adapter should show up under display adapters in the device manager) you can manually clean up your registry or use a tool such as driver sweeper.

Make sure your clocks are back to stock, white-list Battlefield 3 and give it a shot.

Will try this tonight bro, thanks for the reply. Will update as I go.

Hmm, all games run fine, 60-120 FPS, but Battlefield for some reason keeps dropping to 20 FPS after a few seconds of play. I've tried different settings, but no luck.

The original 296 that came with my M14x R2, is the 307 driver better?

Don't wOrry. It is some issue with nvidia's optimus thing i guess. Suffered from same thing.
Just restart your laptop. It should be fine.

Try what Pardo suggested and let us know. Since the issue is happening only on that I'm pretty sure it's the game or it's settings what's causing the problem.
