    Hi,

I've installed Napoleon total war on my M14X and the game crash every time i select a general and right click. It's bothering me a lot, did you have any clue on how solve this problem ?

I've already set the optimus for napoleaon to be on nvidia graphic, the game is installed through steam and i've the original driver (no overclockink of some other modification)

    regards
    E

No the screen was in 40Mhz. I've made a test with screen in 60mhz and the results are the same.

If also i start a battle the game crash. It seems link to optimus or something inside the dell....

I've try to reinstall directx uisng the directx provided in the directory of the napoleon total war but same behavior

what version of Nvidia are you using? I had various issues with other games not taking advantage of optimus and not working. This changed when I updated the graphics card drivers to 270.61 I think the latest one I found.

For the driver I'am using the default provided driver 267.21
And yes i've force the optimus to be set to nvidia cgu when playing the game

I did not know if i can install the latest from nvidia.

is better to update drivers, you'll get more performance...you need to download the driver from NVIDIA or laptopvideo2go.com then you need to get a modd .INF file from laptopvideo2go.com and youre done...there're some threads talking about that...take a look in the forums...good luck!

I'm not really confident to start modding the driver...like that. It stipulates in the nvidia driver that it can not support dual gpu so perharps wait a little more for an official release ?

Or if someone has got a solution on that matter

It is not "modify" the driver, the driver is still original so like i said before you could download directly from NVIDIA. For different reasons (which i will not detail) companies like Dell does not allow you to install the drivers unless the company where you purchased the laptop make publication of them, in this case: Dell.
In laptopvideo2go.com all they do is edit the .INF file so that your laptop is able to use and enjoy the latest drivers.

Like I said before, there are several threads where you can find more information about the NVIDIA drivers on Alienware laptops, many (or all) of those with Alienware is doing the same. But desicion is yours, if you dont want to update the drivers well is fine by me, but keep in mind that new drivers will improve the quality and performance of your laptop in games and applications using a heavy load graphics

    Good luck

Well, like I said I had Optimus issues until I updated my graphics card driver. NVIDIA addressed many of these issues at the end of last year after months of problems for Optimus users. Dell just hasn't yet gotten around to updating any of the drivers. I recommend doing the inf thing and getting those drivers up, they were in fact designed for the card, so don't worry about that.

At last I've found someone with exactly the same problem.
I also run a NVIDIA-Optimus card on my notebook and Napoleon crashes during exactly the same conditions (selecting general or minister, starting a battle ...).

And Windows 7 says that my NVIDIA-drivers are up to date ...

Has anybody found a solution regarding this problem?

With the nvidia beta driver 285.38 napoleon now works and does not crash.

The only problem is that i can only set the graphic in medium position instead of high. I think because the game find the intel fist before the nvidia activated.

    If someone has a solution
