    Hi guys,

In one of the ongoing threads in this forum, instructions have been given to extract and install the NVIDIA 280.28 driver from www.laptopvideo2go.com with a replaced nv_disp.inf file to make the Optimus switching work with the updated driver.

I have just installed the driver on my M14x. I found out that 280.26 version is the most used version instead of the above 280.28. Even NVIDIA doesn't give the option of downloading this driver from their website. However, the 280.28 version for Windows 7 (64 bit) is also WHQL Certified.

Can any of you guys let me know if any of you have faced any issues with the 280.28 version and which version of the driver should be used out of the above 2 drivers.

In case, the 280.26 version is better suited, instructions on how to install this version of driver for Optimus switching will also be appriciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you know that there's a new version available? It's in beta though. And it doesn't need a modified inf file.

Yes I'm aware that the new 285.27 beta version is out and i have seen in the forum that it is working nicely for few people and some folks are also facing certain problems.

My M14x was shipped with the old stock driver 267.XX and i wanted to update it to the latest WHQL certified driver so that i can play games more smoothly. I just wanted to know which one is the better driver out of 280.26 & 280.28 versions to avoid any futures issues with my M14x.

I just noticed on NVIDIA's website that they now have the 280.26 driver for download on their site and it is WHQL or whatever: NVIDIA DRIVERS 280.26 WHQL

Does this mean I can download this and not need the modded .inf file? If not, then can you please tell me where to place the modded .inf file?
