    Hello,

I have my M14x hooked up to an external Sony Playstation TV, and I mostly only use it as a 2nd monitor/TV. Now my question is, with it plugged into my laptop, I do play games but I play them on the Laptop Screen and using native resolution.

Will I see a performance hit with the monitor hooked up to it? I ran some tests myself in Far Cry 2 and saw that I lost about .5 fps if any. Now the only reason I ask is because Far Cry 2 is a very old game and I don't know if others might be a little more greedy when it comes to stealing my frames :p

I will be using a lot of google apps on the 2nd screen but I mean that I know will reduce my performance since it will be using some of my RAM and my CPU.

    Any help would be Appreciated

Thank You, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Well the second monitor is completly drawn and calculated by the Nvidia GPU, whilst the build in can be rendered by the intel gpu. i notice a fps drop in Bf3 when running dual monitor (tho i play on external). so the nvidia will have more work, depending on the game you may notice it or not.

Keep in mind if you're only using the one screen at that given moment, you can toggle displays on an off with WIN+P.
