I just saw this notebook MSI GT683R-242US and it really does kill the m14x in value for the money and performance parts. I almost regret my order seeing this thing. what do you guys think about it?

Much bigger, less run time on batt, heavy. With each "bonus" there is an equal negative.

PS that thing is ugly... but that may just be me... and the stock cost of 1500 is the same I paid with my after market upgrades...

I guess. But the new version of that thing comes with the 570m gtx. A tb of storage in raid 0 and 12 tb ddr3. It's kinda crazy

raid 0 in a laptop? I'm sure that's a well thought out idea with all the pros and cons considered :/

Also how on earth can anything have 12 TB of RAM.

Just curious.. if you're trippin' over this thing so bad, did you look at the Asus G53? I feel like that's a better competitor than the M14x.

Dont forget it has a nasty quality screen, poor build quility, nasty plastics and finally a poor keyboard. If specs are that important then great, but I prefer a good all round package

I looked at it but it doesn't have the 570m gtx like this msi does. I love the m14x don't get me wrong. But a that gpu, hard drive space and 12 Gb of RAM is just very attractive at the same price

MSI is in terms of quality. It could be better for the money, but it won't last as long as this one.
