    Microphone dead on arrival

    Hey guys i bought my alienware m14x on january 31st and the headphone was sort of dead on arrival. I didn't bother checking microphone until like mid february and realized microphone was bugged. People barely hear my voice in the other end and there is only bass sound. It also picks up the typing sound and output it through speaker. Is there any fix for this or do i have to call dell?

    Not that you should accept it being broken, but if you actually want a serviceable mic the built in ones never up to par.

    You will need to buy an external mic, the internal ones are for like emergency use, like somebody skypes you and you answer to say "i dont have my mic plugged in"

    there was a problem with r1's with mic's not working. it was a design flaw. there was a thread about this awhile back, try searching.
