I first noticed this when I was using iTunes, but its with all media playing applications. The media function keys will only work when the app that I want to use them with is the one in the foreground. This didn't always used to happen, and its really frustrating because I constantly paused iTunes while it was in the background; now I have to go and click on the app, then pause it and by then, the time that would have been saved with the hotkey is gone.

The only thing I can think of is some other app is not letting the key specifically talk to iTunes for instance.

Can I get some help on this?

    Thanks

This never happen to me before (or maybe it's not yet its time? lol?) Maybe you can reinstall the command centre, Alienware OSD and Synaptic T-Pad (However this one is for the T-Pad only but it worth a try) and see what happen next.

Interesting. You reinstalled OSD using the one from the Dell M14x driver page, correct?

My first reaction, this is not expected behavior. I know itunes can have issue with the media control buttons but all media apps... Hmmmm....

Current BIOS + Current OSD - correct?

To control itunes download HKTunes, you can set the media keys there and it works whether is on the background or not.
