    When I got my M14x in September 2011, I installed McAfee on the computer and ended with blue screens until I uninstalled the antivirus and switched to MSE. I couldn't figure out the cause but realized that McAfee was part of it.

    When recently (2 weeks ago since my hdd was failing and dell replaced it) I formatted my computer, I thought I should check McAfee again and installed it which looked like it worked well. In the last 6 months, Dell and Killer had release an update to their drivers which solved the blue screen problems.

    But I was wrong, the computer was slow and audio kept getting distorted and slowed. After reading some articles online, I finally realized the culprit. Having the new killer wireless card drivers and McAfee on the same computer resulted in a conflict between them that created extreme DPC Latencies ("LatencyMon" and "DPC Latency Checker" helped figure out what was going on). Dell, Killer or McAfee had fixed one problem (blue screens) but had avoided dealing with the other problem. It took me 2 weeks (During which time I thought the new hdd Dell sent me was the cause) and hours of dealing with Dell (Who kept blaming everything from my softwares to windows except the 2 causes of the problem) to finally figure out what to do. You would think a company who sells both the products with their systems would atleast check for problems.

    So moral of the story, Do not install McAfee and Killer wireless card on the same computer and expect to have a peaceful and fast computer.

    This is not a blue screen problem. But I had already tried what the website suggest and still had the problem with the slow computer.
    On another note, I am not sure if you have this suggestion at the drivers download site but putting it there would really help people who are installing their drivers and software after a system format.

    Thanks for the feedback;
    We have that as a KB Article on our website, you can check for a lot of keywords online and find several solutions. We recommend to use the latest ones from the manufacturers site for this specific issue.
