Hello, I usually shutdown my M14xR2 after using. The next startup the windows logo will appear briefly and very quickly fade to black. The Alienware logo head will continue to blink as if the OS is loading, but all I get is black screen from there.

A hard reset, holding the power button for five seconds, and the computer starts normally but Windows loads slower.

I thought that upgrading to Windows 10 would solve the problem, but I still have the same issue as in Windows 8.1

Because of the load time difference after I do a hard reset, do I have some kind of problem with hiberfil.sys?

this has been a problem for so long I've learned to live with it, but maybe someone has seen it before and solved it

    Thanks in advance!

Your hard drive may be about to die. I would recommend a boot cd like Hirens to diagnose it for bad sectors.

It's to do with the hybrid shutdown, clearly your system does not like resuming from this state. Hybrid shutdown is a form of hibernation which dumps the working memory to disk and then reads it back into memory instead of reloading everything. Could well be a failing hard disk as kosti has pointed out. You can always disable the hybrid shutdown feature and see how you get on but I would be advising checking the hard drive S.M.A.R.T. status using a program like Hard Disk Sentinel. If it shows any weak, bad, uncorrectable or pending sectors the drive should be replaced.

Try running a PSA to look for hardware errors on the hard drive. It does seem like it's passing away.
