    Hello NR.

I know it's a common problem that people have, that it shuts down when your playing games. My problem is a little diffrent, my shuts down even if i'm just browsing or whatever, it just shuts down if i pull the cord. There's still 100% power on the battery, so i don't see the problem? I'm thinking software issue, but i can't seem to find what would cause this? If anyone got some suggestions, or have experienced it and found a solution i would very much like to know!

    Regards Dress

First, when you say "browsing or whatever", that is a bit vague. Browsing can sometimes be resource-heavy for certain systems.

Second, since the system powers down A LOT when on battery, check your system's power settings in AlienFusion, they could be on Max power savings instead of Balanced or Performance.

Even if i'm not doing anything, just idling on the desktop with no programs open it happens. I don't recall chaning anything in the power settings, but maybe an update of some sort have changed something. I've looked in AlienFusion, and can't find anything that seems off.

I had the same problem. I had to open up the bottom of the laptop and remove the battery. Then start up the computer from AC power without the battery inside. Then shut down, reconnect the battery and put everything back together and it recognized the internal battery again. I was using an external battery charger that really wasn't strong enough to power the laptop. It caused the computer to stop trying to draw power from it's battery. Maybe the same process would work for you.

Okay, i've tried that now. Didn't work. Another symptom i've noticed is that the powerbutton isn't lit up when shut off and connected to AC power, dosen't it usely do that? This suck, oh well I'll give dell support a call and see if they got any answers for this.

When the laptop is off, mine only lights up when plugged AND charging.

I have the same problem, whenever I remove AC charger it turns off. Real annoying when I just want to move my laptop to another room. Maybe a good solution is to put laptop to sleep, remove charger, then turn it back on when you connect charger again. I'll see how this works

I tried that and it works, but can't just remove AC cord without sleep and having it stay awake. :/ It just turns off.
