    M14x shipped already..

    Hi, I've been looking at this forum for a short while now. I placed my order with Dell on release day and already it is showing as shipped! Initially on Tues it said it would ship 13th of May. Is this at all possible?

    Just to note the only changes to the stock machine I made was the better screen and 750gb hard drive.

    I'd call up and double check just in case. I can't imagine it being correct, if eveyone else is waiting the guts of three weeks for theirs. Where do you live? Might make a difference.

    I live in the UK.. Unfortunately they are closed now. I checked the packing slip online and two items have shipped.. neoprene sleeve (says M11x sleeve) and UK GFX Freight Zero Cost. So perhaps they have just sent the sleeve seperately although that would seem odd.

    sleeve is separate item. If you order the notebook with the tactx headphones or mouse then they ship them earlier than the notebook.

    Quite normal. I've gone through this countless times ordering Alienware since Dell took over. It actually used to be that you could get hold of the guy at Alienware building your specific machine and see how things were going. Alas that was many many years ago.

    The rule of thumb I have found with Dell is to simply forget about the order. Make a calendar reminder to check in with them 2 days before the predicted ship date. If it's not about to shipped at that point, there's a problem. Chances are good that you'll actually have the machine before then though and haven't blissfully forgotten all about the order it will be a wonderful surprise.
