Alright, from when I got this machine till a week ago, it's been running very fast, no wait for anything, not even at start up, or opening programs. But now, it's taking a bit longer to start up, and even after everything's loaded it still has processing to do before I can use the computer efficiently. There might be some background processes, but i havent found anything out of the ordinary. It's also a bit sluggish opening programs, and the fan is constantly changing from low to high speed, and normally stays at a high speed, even at idle. My start up is set to selected start up, and only has the most basic start up items as well as the alienware command center and fx lighting. I also ran various defragging software and cleaners, multiple registry fixer, and removing programs i dont need. I would like to get it to how it was, any idea's?

I only have one processor, or do you mean number of cores? I might just reinstall the os.
