Hi guys, i opened a topic in Alienware Club but Dell isn't helping me, so i'm appealing to you, this is the problem:
Hi, i'm experiencing problems with my video card, i used to had 60+ fps in games like Dota 2 (specially), but now im having like 25~40 fps top, this is really annoying me, i thought this could be a problem with Intel graphics, then i reseted my laptop to factory settings, but i had no results.
My drivers are up to date, so what could it be ? My video card was awesome some time ago and now its poor ?
-
I'm pretty sure that games are running with nvidia card, i did all those steps, reinstalled drivers and updated them, but with no results, my GPU temp keeps on 60CÂș constantly and my fps too (constantly low).
Even making sure that my games are running with nvidia card i disabled Intel graphics and connected my laptop via HDMI to my TV and i got high fps (60 fps), maybe Intel card is interfering in my nvidia card ?
-
Also, i disabled nvidia card and runned Dota 2 only with Intel graphics and got 10-15 fps, so resuming:
With only Intel enabled: 10-15 fps
With both Intel and Nvidia: 30-40 fps
With only Nvidia: 60+ fps
Another update: My GPU load average is 67%

Hi I also play Dota 2, and similarly I have an m14x(r1).. In this review they say that it can render an average of 37fps.
Sometimes, I can run 60+fps as I did some configuration.. Try to put (-nod3d9ex) on launch options but keep in mind that it would give some alt-tab isssues. -
I just wanna know why it's running games with full fps in my TV with just nvidia cards enabled, and isn't with Intel and Nvidia graphics enabled

Ive been having horrible fps in WoW as well, still havent found a fix

I had something similar happen with this on my M14x-R2 the other night, I noticed I was getting frames in the low 20's whereas I should have been getting around 40. I think this is some hardware/power profile problem; I disconnected and reconnected my power twice to no avail thinking I had a loose cable (the Alienware head logo was not flashing though). I then rebooted and it was fine. I would say tinker with that, but then I would make sure my video card settings were set to use maximum power (not adaptive) and make sure your power profile is not set to balanced or worse, both in Windows and the Alienware power settings. Its possible one of these has changed for some reason - it really does sound like a power issue if its a dramatic change down.
