So I got my hand on a second M14x (don't mind the missing keyboard), both are r2 models but the display's on the R1 are the same. The 900p has a AUO panel, the 768p a LG.

The left one has the 900p and the right one the 786p, both are at maximum brightness. Now the difference in resolution isn't that shocking but the difference in contrast is plus viewing angles on the 900p are quite a lot better as well.

Hope this helps to decide when someone wants to upgrade his panel from a 786p to a 900p.

Again left the 900p and right the 768p.

That's weird, maybe image shack is being blocked at mars? ;). Changed the location to my own ftp, should be visible now.

Pics are showing now on Mars. I am certainly glad I went with the 900p. As you say the difference in contrast is striking.

It is, I've seen both of the configs and I must say that upgrading the LCD is a must when getting an Alienware. :) That way you'll see it the way it must be seen :)
