    ive been offered a swap for an m18x r2 other than size is there any benifit of having an m18xr2 over m14?

    my m14 has actually got a better processor and faster ram :/ are the graphics cards changable on the m18?

    Yes the GPU are changable. The only reason I wouldn't swap is if you move your M14x around everyday. The M18x is a lot of weight to carry around.

    The 18xr2 comes with Ivy Bridge, and you can put faster RAM in it.

    m18x owns m14x in everything , but m14x beats m18x in portable , end of the story.

    The best way is owning both , lol.

    He could mean that the CPU has a higher clock speed.

    In general like everyone else said the M18X would be better: Larger screen (larger resolution), better GPU especially with crossfire/sli. Though if you do need to move the laptop or use it off battery the 14 would be better.
