    Hi all, im currenly using a 1600resolution, 3gb GT555m, 6gb ram model.

I have problems running sc2 on high settings. i get <30 fps. i can only reach 50-60 fps on low settings. I already added sc2 on the whitelist. Is there anything else which is wrong?

You can update the driver, lower some settings, lower resolution, though i wouldnt do that since i paid extra for a 1600x900 reso :p. You can do an overclock via Msi Afterburner at your own risk. Fairly simple. Doesn't make a huge performance boost though. the gt555m is a great card, but it really can't play a lot of games maxed out with good results. Here are the fps from notebookcheck.com

    StarCraft 2 (2010)
    low:
    198.4 234.2 ~ 216 fps Compare
    med.:
    57.5 62.6 ~ 60 fps Compare
    high:
    42.4 46.2 46.4 ~ 45 fps Compare
    ultra:
    22.3 23.9 24 ~ 23 fps Compare

so you seem to be in the normal range.

Have you try whitelist the program from the Nvidia Control Panel? Because as I know most game if install they will not detect the Nvidia GPU and they will instead run on the integrated GPU, so u have to force your game to run on Nvidia GPU pretty on every game u install.

One thing you might want to try is making sure that your refresh rate is set to 60hz. I had a similar issue when I recently received my m14x. I loaded up SC2 right away and the performance was very very lackluster. After some browsing around I noticed that my refresh rate was set to 40hz instead of 60hz. I'm assuming that was for battery life? I'm not sure, but either way I changed it to the normal 60hz and, bam! The performance is great!

did you check your windows energy profile is set on "High Energy" ?
    Balanced throttles the gpu down.

I have sort of the same "problem"... I get like 50+ fps or something on 1920x1080 ultra on my desktop while if I put ultra on my m14x it kills the computer on 1600x900 but I really have like no idea about computers, performance etc but what is supposedly the stronger system: m14x or i7-950, 6 gig 1333 mhz ram and nvidia gtx 260 desktop?

In SC2 with a 765 OC I'm getting like 50+ FPS on Ultra. And OCing your graphics card gives you about a 20% increase in performance and I'm sitting at about 75c (I just have it sitting on my desk, no cooler or it propped up) for a max temp on the GPU which is well within the safety zone.

I would believe the CPU and RAM[higher freq] of the m14x is more powerful than your desktop's, but the card on your desktop is better than the GT555M.
