    M14x R2 i7-3740QM very slow Handbrake encoding FPS

    I have two machines with identical cpu's. One is a M17x R4 and the other is a M14x R2. Both have i7-3740QM. The 17 has 32Gb ram and the 14 has 16gb ram. Both have SSD.

    However, both running the same version of hand brake and transcoding the same file gives very different results.

    The 17 gets ~40 FPS, while the 14 only gets ~8 FPS.

    All unnecessary background processes are killed it both machines.

    I can't figure out what's wrong? It's baffling! Any ideas?
