So I upgraded the hard drive by taking advantage of the mSata slot and purchasing a 256gb mSata SSD to run in raid 0 with my SATA III drive. I am getting like 822 MB/s read and 508 MB/s write. The SSD I have are nothing to brag about and not really top of the line parts. They specs are shown below and I could benefit from upgrade when running benchmarks. In real life the gains for the cost are just not worth it. I am happy to keep on extending life into this machine. I REALLY REALLY WISH DELL/ALIENWARE WOULD HAVE USED MXM SOCKETS INSTEAD OF SOLDERING THE VIDEO CARDS...I HOPE YOU CAN HEAR ME DELLIENWARE.

    Crucial m4 256GB 2.5-Inch (9.5mm) SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive CT256M4SSD2
    500 MB/sec sequential reads (at 6 Gb/sec),260 MB/sec sequential writes (at 6 Gb/sec)

Generic mSata with 500 MB read and 250 MB write.
