By OC I presume you mean OC the GPU, I suggest you try either MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision, not sure about the safe clock as I dont own the R2, for temp try to keep it under 85C, anything higher than 85C would be quite unsafe, the overheat/BSOD shutdown point is 100C. Turn off the CPU's Turbo Boost (Found in the BIOS) to reduce further heat as the M14x's GPU share the same heat pipe as the CPU which is they also share the stress of heats, and the Ivy Bridge is fast enough to have the Turbo Boost off, you really dont need that turbo boost, especially for Gaming.

Have same specs as you daemon. I use msi afterburner. I overclock gpu 100 and the mem 200 so (100/200). It works fine and turbo applies another 15 percent on top of that. Max overclock is 135. The 650mGT on the m14x has 3 "P" states or performance states. That is locked down by the bios so until an updated/unlocked bios is created the max GPU overclock is 135. The memory is unlimited however anything higher than 240 seems to cause throttling so I just stick to 200 max. Cheers

I run it usually at +135 GPU clock, it's pretty safe. And you say that 240 on the memory causes throttling? I've been running at 250 but lately I've been noticing some temperature increases, I'll try it at +200 for a bit and see how that works. :3

Furthermore, my buddy has some ridiculous cooling mods (copper heatsinks, custom bottom plate, etc.), and he claims that anything under +500 works. And I'm like, "LEL, you're nuts." I don't know what his idea of "stable clocks" are!

Just a friendly advice, make sure you monitor the temperatures if you are planning to Oc.

Is it true that the GT650M can be oc'd to stock GTX660M?

If so, is it the 100/200 boost?
