M14x Order Status Discussion

hmm, on my invoice it says
320-2228 14.0 High Def+ (900p/1600x900) with WLED backlight.

 

I'm assuming truelife is standard on all the screens.

 

In the US dell 'help me choose a screen' site Truelife is only ticked on m17x 3D screen, weird

 

New update for my system...

Site is reporting my order as "SCShip Complete" [whatever SCShip means], but also as "finalizing production." I ordered on the 26th, so if that's a true status - things are moving quickly, probably helps that my order wasn't too much different than the standard base model. I plan on doing the RAM upgrade and other tweaks myself.

How long does finalizing shipping usually last for? I've been there for a day

 

It lasted 2 days for me. Though I got my laptop on the next day of the final day it said "finalizing production." Pretty cool. I hoped to get the laptop by Monday, but I received it today.

hey guys, i know this probably doesn't apply to everyone, but don't forget to add the easter holidays to the length of production.. maybe why it's taking longer then usual. I wonder if Dell thought to include them when giving EDD's. lol.

Don't worry Marky808.. my order status seem to take forever to change too.. thought it was never gonna get built.. then all of a sudden it went from 'build complete' to 'local courier' in no time at all. They probably had alot more orders to contend with when u ordered yours too...

still 11/05 EDD.. will probably sit at a warehouse somewhere for 1 week before it get's delivered..lol.. hope not..

 

I know some components can delay production, depending on availability - seems like people with relatively "standard builds" get their systems quickly.

...mine is still showing an arrival date of May 20th, but has moved to finalizing production already after two business days. We shall see!

order date was 4/23, original estimated delivery was 5/18, so I am pretty happy

 

This is almost certainly the case for the UK given that I only ordered mine Wednesday eve and it is scheduled for delivery Tuesday (and 2 bank holidays in between - though I guess China doesn't get these). I went for the completely standard build - no customisation whatsoever - even with the avatar options and keyboard colours etc.

On a separate note, quite enjoying the detailed tracking info from UPS - departed China yesterday, via Shanghai, then to Dubai, and latest news is that it's in Koeln, Germany. And will be in the UK before end of Tuesday according to them!

It was actually evening of Wednesday 27th - not the Thurs as I thought - although given that China are 8 hours ahead nothing would have happened until Thursday at the earliest.

 

Sigh... my M14X has been on finalizing production for 2 days now...

i think the wirelesshd is the cause for your delay. i order mines 3 days after yours are i should get it tomrrow or tuesday.

apparently my laptop is with Schenker couriers. has anyone from Australia dealt with this company before? and what is their service like. I've read on other forums that they don't have the best service or their communication with dell isnt that great, but i've never heard of them here in Australia..

Yeah well I ordered mine the morning of the 25th. Only things I upgraded were the Screen and the wifi to the second option. Mine says it's still "in production".

most of the gameplay videos in youtube show that they have 2630qm. So try to base it on that.

 

Ordered the morning of the 19th. Order status has finally moved from "In Production" to "Finalizing Production". I have NBD shipping, how long do you guys think it will take until I get it now? Based off of if you had the same shipping method and after it went into "Finalizing Production".

The Dell dates are wack. Just go by what your tracking number is when you get it. My EDD was May 20th and I might get my laptop tomorrow. Wed for sure.
