    Hi everyone,

    Hooked up my M14x onto the big screen today (42" sony bravia), and started playing some videos using media player classic.

    First there were heaps of screen tearing and lag, so I thought okay maybe I just need to make it run on the 555m. So I whitelisted my player on nVidia control panel - the screen tearing disappeared but the lag is still there.

    Super frustrated as I was trying to show my family a new movie - it's only 720p and it just lags like hell. My M17x R1 never had this problem and I'm sure it just needs a few tweaks to get it running.

    Please help! Thanks!

    Try hook up only the TV and disable the laptop's screen. Your PC has optimus which, if I recall correctly, only works on the main screen.

    Thanks for your reply, I've tried every combination:

    (1) Extend screen 1+2 (tv)
    (2) Show desktop only on 2 (tv)
    (3) nVidia setting performance over quality
    (4) playing the video window mode
    (5) Use GT555m
    (6) Use integrated HD3000
    (7) Integrated is set to 60Hz not 40Hz

    Is Aero(3d Glass/transparency) on? (it should be)

    Why? Try change video renderer in MPC-HC to EVR-Custom Pres.
    (View-> Options-> Output)

    Also, make sure that MPC-HC is not set to disable Aero/Desktop composition.
    (View-> Renderer->Presentation-> Disable)

    Sorry I went off for lunch. I was previously using K-Lite codec and switched to Storm Codec - which fixed the lag but still had a few screen tearing.

    I see your signature suggests two other codec packs, I'll uninstall storm codec and give yours a try.

    My current MPC has no EVR-Custom Pres and no presentation tab under view

    <--- Using MPC w/ K-lite Codecs + Core Codec Pro

    Via HDMI everything runs smoothly, even on balanced battery mode.

    Thanks for the feedback... lag in no longer the issue, only screen tearing, I've tried difference resolutions 1920x1080 (tv native) and 1600x900 (m14x native) to no avail

    is there some sort of Vsync I can use to make sure all frames are synced together? By the way streaming videos via internet is perfect. Only rmvb files are screwing up

    any news regarding this particular problem? I've got these tearing in the upper screenpart too. I can remeber this problem with my desktop pc. A new win install solved this.
