That's not an issue, that is because when you right click on the alienhead icon on ur lower left hand side, it says go dark and leave status zones on. You can uncheck this.

    Agreed Colpolite.

If this is 'not expected behavior' Chris, then this applies to all of the models and not just the 14x. Leaving 'Keep Status Zones On During Go Dark' checked will ensure all zones are turned off when FN+F11 with the exception of Touchpad, AlienHead Button and Touch Controls. If its not checked, then everything is switched off. If you want this thread removed Chris, shoot me a PM. Hope all is well.

I see. I would have thought that Go Dark would ignore the check by Status Zones On During Go Dark. I guess it is designed to check that first. Seems backwards to me but removing the check works.

I want to know why is the touch pad a status zone? Alienware, please make it not a status zone.

When you disable the trackpad using Fn+F12 it turns off the lightning zone, I guess this is the reason why it's considered a status zone :-/

Yeah, but then it also turns off the trackpad itself. I guess my only problem with the track pad led is that its so much brighter than the rest of the LEDs on my m14x.
