Hi guys sorry to bother all of you but i really have no where to turn to. I bought a brand new Alienware M14x laptop today and when i got home i found out that the battery wont charge, when i go into windows 7 i look down to the bottom right corner its says 100% Fully Charged (this is with my AC cable plugged in). So i shut it down and unplugged the AC but when i tried turning it on but it just has no response but its fine with the AC plugged. I have tried a few options i found on this forum and dell forums:

    1. I tried unplugging AC, turn laptop off, take battery out, press 'start' button for 30 secs, put battery back in (which didn't work)

    2. Tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it (which didn't work)

    3. Tried disabling driver and enabling it (which didn't work)

    4. Tried to leave it off and charge (which didn't work)

    5. Tried plugging it into several different power points on the wall (didn't work)

    6. Tried pressing Fn+F2 but nothing happens. The AlienFX windows shows but got no idea what to do

Im out of options and i really like my new laptop, i was wondering if its not too much trouble can someone please give me a hand or a fix. Would really appreciate any help i can get, i'll try contacting dell support tomorrow but dont if they are open on a Sunday. Once again i am terribly sorry for troubling you guys

Id check in the bios, look around and see if you see an option that lets the battery charge, maybe it got switched. also, try unscrewing the laptop bottom, unplugged of course, and check the battery, see if the connecter is set in properly, also, press the battery meter button located on the top of the battery, if it doesnt light, you might have a bad battery, which is no biggy really, dell will replace.

    1. Checked the bios the 'Charge Battery' option is enabled

    2. I unscrewed the bottom and checked the battery and its connected properly

    3. Pressed the battery meter and all 5 led lights up but they all turn off

Since its Sunday here i cant contact Dell support so if anyone can help or have any other advice i would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

On a unrelated matter i was wondering i could use the m14x as a desktop replacement and if i do should i take the battery out from the laptop and run it trough AC? or its ok to just disable 'Charge Battery' from the bios menu?
