    M14x BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH HELP ASAP!

    my m14x just bsod! I had black ops opened and then I had to go somewhere and alt tabbed out of black ops and put the comPuter to sleep. I turn it on, click on google chrome, BSOD. never happened before. When I try to turn on, it says Operating System not bootable or something. ! I had to insert the win 7 disk in and it says I need to install it or something! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! PLEASE HELP!

    Edit: I can't even install win 7 on my partitions! It wont let me install!
    Edit2: it says problem loading operating system, a disk read error occurred!
    EDIT3: It says my harddrive 0 has failed, Error 2000:0142 Status=79

    ANY alienware representatives please help! will i lose all my work on my harddrive? HELP!

    it's probable that your HD is busted! too bad.

    I'd return and replace if you still can. If the drive itself is dead, your data might be gone. There is a chance of recovery though. Try removing the drive and put it in a SATA-USB enclosure, plug it into another machine and see what happens. If the new machine won't recognize the drive, it may be toast.

    ALT Tabbed out of a running game then put the laptop to sleep? I've never heard anyone actually do something like that. Does your BIOS detect the hard drive?

    yeah, i did the diagnostics and my harddrive had this error problem. =(

    Do you have a spare HDD? see if it can be detected.

    are you still in warranty? call dell for replacement.
