    Hello,

I just received my M14x today and already experienced two problems with it.

    1. It shut down randomly when plugged in - while I was on facebook, doing nothing intensive..
I have already read the "Computer Shutting Down Randomly, While Plugged In", but there is no solution.

    2. The screen just started flickering while I was playing tetris on FB, I had to force shut it down.

I am sad, because I really like everything else about this laptop :( I know I should call dell support since I am still under warranty, BUT I really dont want to deal with them until I try somethings myself lol.. so any suggestions will be well received. Thank you!

dont do anything yourself, you will just void your warranty...

you have to call dell, sry to tell you!

my m14x came yesterday and im pretty lucky i guess, no problems so far.. even the keyboard including the spacebar seem perfect

Maybe you should stop playing Facebook games on a M14x...

Sorry, this is my third useless reply on the board today. :(

Is you lappy plugged into a powerbar located close to it?

    powerbar??

And I just got off the phone with Dell support, after about 1hr and 30 minutes, he asked me to reinstall the driver for both the intel and discrete graphic card... and told me to call back if the problem persists, yay.

haha, I hope that really was the problem.

    Yes, powerbar.

I had similar symptoms a while back on another machine, when I realized it was from the powerbar that I had nestled behind and under the CRT screen, because of a lack of space.

Since the symptoms you are experiencing are similar, I thought I should bring it up.

    Sorry for wasting your time.
