--Gaming on battery? What are the GPU clocks like in performance mode while on battery?

--Game performance? BF3, COD MW3, Crysis, DOW2, Any other new games for that matter.

--Optimization? What are you doing to push the machines a bit to crank a little more out of them? What are you seeing?

    --Overall Battery Life?

    --Screen Quality (compared to R1)

    --Any other notes or observations?

    Thanks!

As of now... My GPU clocks havent marked anything over 71 (DoW2 on ultra settings)
However I did see a significant dip on my frames playing on battery. (yes it was on high performance and 650m as default GpU). The game still played fine dont get me wrong, but I certainly noticed the decrease in fps.

As for battery span during gaming... I was able to get around 3- 3.5hours from 100% till the 1st low battery warning. (But do keep in mind not every game has the same demand and that Ive only done this test ONCE. An average would be ideal.)

Screen is where I have my only problem... While its not a bad screen by any mean... During the day... the viewing angles are significantly reduced. In dark settings its just gorgeous. In summary the super glossy screen a lot of people disliked from the R1 is back :(.

Optimization wise... I only removed some of the bloatware (which is not a lot really). Nothing else as of now... I really havent seen the need to even think about OC lol :D.

The great sound system is back with a punch! :D Along with the great port options.

I was told (mine had these) by other users that the R2s have 2 little stickers on the right palm rest. Me and a couple of other people have been able to get them off w/o leaving any markings w/o too much hassle.

If I can remember anything else I'll let you know.

    Hope this helps! :D

Batman Arkam City is another I'd like to see how well it does? I can run the game on almost all maximum settings (with slight oc) but that's with directx11 disabled. Games like skyrim and cod all run perfect anyway on the R1.

Battlefield 3 is the one game that's out that really pushes the machine. This is one of the only games that I can't run on higher settings on my R1 right now. I've oc'd my machine really just for BF3 for 64 player games on the larger maps just to get half decent settings that don't ever dip below 30fps - so I'd be very interested to see how the R2 does?

How is the fan noise under load on the R2?
    What screen did you get?

I would not call it loud... But its certainly noticeable. I would say a slight moderate improvement from the R1 noisy fan. (Do keep in mind the R2 runs considerably cooler than the R1... I havent OC my R2 so I cant really add to the fan noise during those conditions)

    Screen is 1600x900 native.

Temps are much better than the R1 for sure but would you say you can hear the fans from a few feet away/across the room?
My buddies R1 the fans had a high pitched whine you could hear even when he had his door closed in his room.
Sort of stupid question but is it more like a hair drier sound(R1)or just a low loud woosh?
I know it seems silly but to me it can make or break the deal.
    Thanks

Hair Dryer !? Nooo.... Not at all mate!

While you can certainly hear the fan when it kicks in... Its not high piched and certainly not audible from another room. My Gf sits next to me to study... She hasnt complained yet.

Yeh the fans noticeable when you do high demanding tasks, its not an annoying noise tho and you will struggle to hear it over a games audio on half! You forget about the noise eventually, i cant compare to the r1 as ive never heard its fans going =)

Give me some names of good benchmark programs and ill run some and post results, im new to this stuff as my previous laptop was the ancient dell 6400 xD!!

All I can tell you right now is that mine has a wei score of 7.2, not bad for a laptop xD
    The speakers on this laptop...amazing.

Just one for me Furmark, to see how the cooling system handles heat for the GPU.
    Thanks

What are your Star Wars the old republic settings to getting that fps? Did you just add any driver updates or do anything in the nvidia control tab?

Those temps aren't bad at all... Considering Intel states the Ivy series can withstand up to 101c.

Only time I see those temps is when I play DoW2 on Ultra for a couple of Hours! D3 doesn't even break a sweat on the R2... :D
