    Hi all,

Anyone happen to know what the material is for the M14Xs screen, is it plastic, or some kind of coated/treated glass (Gorilla Glass or similar) ..

I am considering a purchase and its pretty important for me to know if its prety much normal plastic that may scratch easly (i.e Sony PSP and Vita) or is it some kind of proper scratch resistant mineral glass like Corning Gorilla Glass. For the record only the latter is acceptable for me on any mobile device.

The screen is of a high quality plastic kind and not like gorilla glass . It is worth mentioning that while this may not appeal to you, it does not seem to pose a problem for me in any such way. It does not scratch very often and the screen on my M14x has not obtained a single scratch since i got it and i lug it around with my to class and drawing laboratories.

Looks like from the feedback so far that the M14x may be out of the picture because of the screen plastic and not just because of the cleaning issues ether. Seems it reflects *everything* to, practically like a mirror.

Really have to wonder why Dell thought it would be a good idea from a practical point of view to have this kind of material used..

Order the screen protector from the alienware site. It is a matt finish that allows the 'puter to be used in bright surroundings. I put one on and my m14x can be used anywhere now.
