Today for no apparent reason, I get no lights and messages from Command Center saying something along the lines of maybe my M14X isn't compatible with the lighting stuff. I also tried it in Windows 8 CP, no such luck there either. I reinstalled the program as well and NET framework 4.0, because W8 threw up some errors with it there, but it did that before too so I don't know what I was expecting. Anyways, hope someone can help me out. Thanks.

I think it is maybe because of AlienFX is just not yet support Windows 8. You might want to wait until Dell release a patch to support Windows 8, and I dont think it will be any sooner, might be until Windows 8 to have a full release.

Nevermind, found the solution on an M15X forum, apparently this is a common problem for them, but so far unheard of for the M14. Anyways, I unplugged the laptop, opened it up, unplugged the battery, and held down the power button for about 30 seconds. From there it was all better.

Can you still open AlienFX or is it not working at all?
Edit: Nevermind, glad you fixed it.
