I wanted to create a thread where we could share notebook cooler models and recommendations for the M14X.

    1. List the model
    2. Would you recommend it?
    3. Pros & Cons?

I recently purchased one based on a recommendation (SYBA brand), but it turned out to be junk (returned it to Newegg), so I'm actively seeking a new cooler ;)

    I'll start:
    1. SYBA Cooling
    2. No - Got it for very cheap is why I purchased it
    3. The fan would loosen non-stop and make these weird crackling noises. Wasn't a good fit for the M14x.

    ---

Also guys, a using thermal compound on your CPU/GPU can reduce your temps by up to -10c.

Here is what top laptop resellers such as GenTechPC use (IC24 Thermal Compound):
    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...&_nkw=ic24+thermal+&_sacat=See-All-Categories

And finally, if you've owned your laptop for several months, using a compressed air can to clean your fans is a very good idea. They run at about 5-10$/per can.

    1. List the model
    - Cooler Master Notepal U2

    2. Would you recommend it?
    - Yes.

    3. Pros & Cons?
Pros: 2 removable fans, Reasonable price (I got one from Amazon cost just about $40), make out of Aluminium - good for absorbing heat. Ergonomic USB port that will not waste your USB port since it has sort of a transfer port on it.
Cons: Tend to slip down, can sometime trap some dust surrounding the fan.

The package description said up to 17" however I think that's just an advertising/marketing purpose because I try it on my brother's 15" laptop and it overfill the space, while the M14x still have some space available.

    1. Targus Chillmat

    2. Yes, I would recommend it.

    3. Pros and Cons
Pros- two fans, pushing air onto the bottom of the laptop. Open design allows for unrestricted airflow to the fans.
Cons- Doesn't line up the cpu fan to the cooler fans evenly, have to set the laptop a half inch or so off-center to get the cooler fan blowing air directly into the cpu fan. No biggy though.

Im going with cm notepal u2 also. The movable fans are great. Aside from feeding the air directly to the m14 intake it also serves as a dust guard. Con is it is tilted at a steep angle which was weird for me but i just put 2 erasers to elevate the front to even it out a bit. been getting up to 5C temp reductions since I got it.

Newegg.com - Cooler Master Notebook Cooling Model NotePal U2

I just bought it a week ago and I'm using it now. $23 after $12 instant savings and then another $8 mail-in rebate brings it down to $15. Verdict is still out because I haven't really gamed with it yet but my CPU hasn't gone over 75 yet.

    Cooler Master Notepal U2

    2. Would you recommend it?
    Absolutely

    3. Pros & Cons?
    Pros:

According to the box description it state to be 17" or higher, so on the M14x it would be having a lot of addition space wasted since there are still some little space available on the CM U2, and 3 fans is also too many for the M14x since it has only 2 vent. But I think the reason Harshdog recommend it by because of the fan speed controller.

Guys my U2's fans are giving too little air and it does not change any temp.

What is the best replacement fans to put on my Notepal U2?

Thats's strange that you haven't noticed any difference as I've had a few temp problems with my laptop in the past and the u2 pad really helped in bringing it down?

I didnt see any difference between using U2 without fans and with fans. So the only thing that helped to me was actually elavating the back of the laptop.

Zalman CN2000 for 17 inch laptops. I didnt get the 14 inch one because of one fan. I would recommend for anybody. I can game on it for 5 to 6 hours straight and without a problem of overheating.
