    Hi all,
    Im thinking of buying a m14x in US and then bringing it back with my uncle(he works there an here) to New Zealand. HAs anyone else done this and have any tips for me?

    What problems/tax/hidden costs am I likely to incounter if he brings it back with him?

    According to the NZ Customs Service, goods if import for personal use on the Computer (Desktop/Laptop) will be duty free. I used to bring in a mobile phone which is a iPhone 4 from AU, and they didnt charge it, because the price is under 2000NZD, and it is for personal use. However for your case as a Laptop, I'm not sure but if it for personal use then you should be okay, and for the price as long as it cost less than 2000NZD then you've nothing to worry about, and since laptop that sell in US, tend to cost cheaper than here. So you'd fine.
