Hi guys, so i'm waiting for the M14 to ship. Meantime, has anyone of you new m14 owners already put the little beast under some benckmark and will to share? Better if actual gaming benckmarks

    thanks!

I've heard that the 675m is similar performance wise to the AMD 6990m. Don't have any benchmarks to back that fact up though. :(

I got 4202 on 3DMark11 at stock speeds, if that helps. It's surprising how capable it is.

Thanks for sharing. Nice score indeed, it would be nice to see and overclocked run. I did a try disabling one of the 6970m on the R2. With a single card my 3dMark11 score is P36xx, 3300 graphics score.. Card is overclocked 775/1000.

Here is a basic run I ran when I received my machine.

Generic VGA video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4700MQ,Alienware Alienware 14

I haven't messed with it as of late. I will be traveling this week and may do a few runs while it sites on the hotel AC unit.

I am also able to OC the processor with XTU to:

    36,35,34,34 with no issues.

I also can OC my GPU using Nvidia Inspector. I was able to max out the core and get some good OC on the memory. I know the vbios isn't unlocked, but when I adjust the settings nvdidia inspector reports the change and the score I received using furmark kept going up. So something is happening.

I will apply these settings once I get on the road.

The only issue I did notice is after a run or so my video on my screen would get distorted dramatically and I would have to reboot in order to fix it.

I've been trying to overclock my 765m and, though it seems to be working fine in Furmark, I've found that I get significant throttling issues beginning after a few tests in 3DMark11. I don't get any throttling when it's not overclocked, after applying the defaults in Nvidia Inspector. Some sort of Vbios limitation?

I didn't pay to close attention to the throttling when I was running 3dmark. I read somewhere in this section if you use NVidia inspector it will eliminate the throttling.

What NVidia inspector is doing, is it adjust the default temperature throttle target, I'm surprised you were still seeing throttling. Did you OC when you used NVidia inspector? Or just apply the default? I will have to do more investigation on this later this week.

Hopefully there will be a vbios fix down the road.

In nvidiaInspector you need to raise the temp limit from 66C in order to prevent throttling. Yesterday I ran 10 minutes of Furmark and couldn't get the GPU to exceed 64C. Hours of Borderlands 2 and I haven't seen anything that felt like throttling either. I haven't had the time to do any extensive testing or looking under the hood yet, so take my observations with a grain of salt.

I applied the default (95c temp) and tried some mild overclocking (120+/120+) and, after a few tests in 3DMark11, I saw my framerates drop to below half. However, Furmark did not cause any throttling. Didn't test any games. Not sure what the deal is.

Download hwinfo, and monitor sensors. I have notice sometimes at random the Haswell quad can drop its clock speed even if no where TDP or Max temps.

Thanks for the feedback. At the moment I'm quite upset with Dell... For no apparent reason my order has been canceled.

I have already placed another order, selected a different payment method (I will send the money on dell account as soon as I receive their confirmation mail) I hope everything will work ok this time. I don't have a lot of time, before the end of the month I'll have to leave for 2 months (work) and I really wish to have the 14 with me. Do you think some of the Dell Rep's here may help me to speed up things?

It could also be that the oc is unstable, and your drivers are crashing.

no no he is right 765m has some kind of problem me and my friend did literally everything we could for maybe months we tried changing tdp limit master vtlage this and that..card throttles after 1.1 voltage. not sure why... but it just does..hopefully there will be vbiox fix for this soon...i did get more than 55... but this was my score when it didnt throttle in 3dmark NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4700HQ,ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. G750JW ...what happens is gpu load goes to %50 even if cpu is below 60c it shows as throttling could be gpu boost 2.0 or something else..if u come across a fix please post.

    overclock GTX 765M together with 4700mq 1600mhz 16gb ram 14 inch laptop Firestrike 3DMARK 2896 points with 9526 physics

View image: GTX765 M BEST STABLE OVERCLOCK

gtx765m best stable overclock all in one screenshot.

    extra answers which are not available in screenshot;

i opened the case and put another 12 volt core 2 quad extreme fan on top of the fan. it is on the hdmi side of the notebook on the back corner, focus your fan on this place, or leafs of fan.
you can never achive 9500 phsics unless you do this.
if you limit your cpu to 3ghz case closed, 3.1 case open you can hit 8400
no easyly available laptop cooler can cool alienware ! just open the case and put it on a higher level than table op put it like a open book to the side with open case.

you can't stop throttling on overclock unless you lower the degree of the chip.

core 2 quad extreme had a bios setting which you disable (actually disable them all) and you can get rid of throttle nightmare

stop using other overclock softwares and flash v bios adding
    nvflash -4 -5 -6 biosname

with -4 -5 -6 it force overwrites old bios. in my case it said it is different id so it can't

what i share is a 1 week work please tumbs up!
