Does anyone know if this is the case? Can it be replaced like we are able to do on the 17 and 18 machines?

Sorry that is the bad thing about the M14x.

Thanks I was just wondering. Considering buying one from someone selling it on here but saw the throttling issue. Have a 680 in my M17 that I would have pulled to put in it to replace the 765 if it was possible. May still buy it since there's a work around for the throttle, not sure yet.

Just to confirm, it is soldered. You need to swap the motherboard to upgrade/swap the video card. It's still a great laptop with a very low price for it's specs

So in short, the GPU card is literally on the same PCB as the motherboard. This is done to save space, and occasionally money.
It might be possible to hack the board from an Alienware 14 into an m14x, I haven't seen any pictures of the board but based on the way it looks on the outside I think it would require a lot of modifications and I'm not exactly Ben Heck.
M14 video card soldered in?
