really thinking of selling my desktop and M11x R1 and grabbing a best of both worlds laptop.

i love the battery life and portability of the M11x and the power of my desktop. so id hope to be some where in the middle. i could never see my self owning a 17" so i know i have to sacrifice some power in that respect.

1.what battery life are you guys seeing just browsing the web? (i dont ever really plan on gaming on battery power).

2.when gaming, do you find your self turning down the gfx setting a lot?

3.i plan to go with the i7-3610QM, 2Ggb 650m and the 720p screen. any reason you guys would suggest against that build?

    thanks for any replies. :)

So you coming to the m14x too :)
I got my m14xr2 a few weeks ago, love it.
I got the i5, 1gb, 900p, bluray and killer card with mine.

I would say switch the 2gb gpu for the 900p screen though.

While I am not getting as much battery as my m11xr1 does, surfing I can still get up to nearly 8 hours... m11x I can get well over 11+

I have not gamed much on my m14x yet, but I played around with darksiders for a bit, ran great.

Also, call in and talk to the sales guy to haggle your price down. I got some good coupons and a great price for mine.

literally just jumped from the m11x r1 to the m14x r2.

Re-isntalling on a SSD as I type, so I can't vouch for performance hikes, but I'm fully prepared to be blown out of my chair :D

It'll be nice to be able to play more recent high-end games and not having to crank down all the settings on all the others.

    game on :D
