I am getting horrible framerates (10-15 fps) on TERA on the m14x but have seen others being able to play it on relatively high settings on worse machines.

    My specs are:
    i7-2630QM Turboboost enabled
    1.5gb GT 555m OC'ed at 740/1080
    4gb stock RAM

I also have framerate problems playing Borderlands and League of Legends, but not as bad as Tera. I have tested turning off turboboost, with/without overclocking, different nvidia drivers since 295.73, inf modding, and different BIOS with/without voltmod.
I am positive I have all of these games whitelisted since it shows up on my taskbar as being used by the nvidia gpu. Also, my CPU temps never get past 60c and my GPU temps never get past 55c.

Anyone know what might be wrong?

What driver are you using? I know that the 300 beta drivers make Tera run really slow below 20 fps. I'm on the 296.10 driver running preset 5. I get a stable 30-40 fps but sometimes dips below to 20 when there's heavy action on screen.

nVidia drivers have been hit and miss.

SWTOR for example runs at 30FPS-High on the latest driver. If you rewind 2-3 drivers back, it runs at 50FPS-High (never goes below 30). This is with the R1.

What I've been doing is trying a driver, then playing my top 3 games for 5-10 minutes /repeat until I was satisfied my main games worked properly.

I guess he mean those present under "Manage 3D Setting" > "Global Setting" (Correct me if I'm wrong).

Btw, for driver version 296.10, I also used to install that driver, but lots of framerate drop and OC incompatibility problems so revert to the 295.73 and never had any fps nor OC problems.

Have you tried the 285.62 driver? Seems like that's the only one that works for me.

There are many, but the 3 I like to use are:

    HWMonitor
    OpenHardwareMonitor
    RealTemp.

For me I personally use the OpenHardwareMonitor, because it allow me to pin the reading to the desktop like a desktop widget and it is real time update by 1 second. Btw, I recommend you disable the Turbo Boost if the laptop start to heating up.

thats really weird. I am running an I5-2410M, 6b ram, and 1.5gb GT555m (driver 296.10) and i am not having any problems with TERA or LoL. at first i had some dips in framerate while playing Tera but that was because of heat issues (which cleaning my fan promptly fixed).

however, i am running everything at 1366x768.

I meant the in game preset, which is like very high, but not max.
