Hi fellows i'm on the final stage on making my decision, but my vision is not the greatest and the 14 may be an issue. The only thing that i like about the 17 is the screen size, so I'm looking for a side by side between this 2 machines, Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I can get a comparison picture for you, but it won't be until tomorrow night. My next door neighbor owns a M17x R3, but I can't wake him right now ;)

Yeah it's definitely quite a size difference, funny thing is the weight difference doesn't feel like a whole lot lol. Nice combo though the M14x+M17x makes for a powerful+portable combo. The one thing I don't understand is why they couldn't get the 14x's battery life to beat the 17x

This is really helpful, although I've already ordered my M14x, it reinforces my initial gut feeling that the 17x really wouldn't be that portable.

These photos should be in a sticky somewhere.

I honestly don't think the m17x is realistically portable on a daily/all day basis. I'm sure it can be done, but like I said it's not realistic IMO.

Wow, the m17x r3 is ing huge.

Kills any hope of me ever buying that thing for college, since I would probably leave it home every day due to it's volume

Yup, it's quite the hassle. I brought a G73JW-3DE with me everyday to school and although it was quite light in the backpack, taking it out and getting set-up was a major pain.
